Jon Tarr

Creative Director - Graphic Designer

Jon has been in the graphic design industry for 10 years. With a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma in Graphic Design, Jons design background is from print media, branding and advertising. These days Jon is responsible for the majority of graphic design work, creative direction and is the 'frontman' for the company. Jon works personally with our clients maintaining a consistent level of quality and service for businesses of all sizes. The few times Jon is allowed out of the office he will indulge in one of these passions: photography, fine art, playing guitar or riding his motorbike.

Matthew Mabley

Director - Website & Hosting Manager

Matt is the first port of call for all website and hosting enquiries. Matt has a substantial background in web project management for over 300 successful websites. He will develop and plan website projects, keep web tasks on schedule and manage hosting support for clients. Matt is pretty much happy if he is talking about websites. He can, and does, talk about websites all day. Matt also has a young family to manage in his spare time - he probably talks to them about websites as well.

Toby Behan

Website Developer

Tobys background is varied and impressive; formally Hosting Manager of a high flying IT company, technical support for Telecom and professional dancer for the Royal NZ Ballet. Toby also has a Bachelor of Business Management and years of client communication experience. Toby is highly skilled in the web industry and is also a php programmer for Mafeking. His roles include website development and hosting technician. When he's not staring at lines of code Toby will be spending time with his young family, choreographing dancers or out in the wilderness tramping.

Daniel Reis

Web Designer

Dan has a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design and designs very smart, modern looking websites. He has worked for award winning web design companies around the world before joining our A-Team. He has created well over 1,500 websites in his 18 years of experience and several have won the iBest (Oscar of the Brazilian Internet). Dans creative talent certainly doesn't stop at websites, he is also an amazing illustrator, painter and sculptor artist.

Crystal Mathieson

Graphic Designer

Crystal is a experienced print designer. She works in our design and advertising department producing several on-going print publications from start to finish. She also manages a lot of our demanding print schedules making sure deadlines are never missed. She also has an uncanny ability for proof reading which has saved us a lot of re-prints! When not in the office Crystal is usually designing and creating custom fine jewellery.

Andrew Bush

Software Developer

Andrew is our Software Developer. He hails from Massey University and is highly experienced in C, C++, Objective C, Java, PHP, SQL, Ruby, and Perl. Andrews role with Activate is primarily to develop functionality for our Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch applications as well as some web development. Andrew enjoys programming, spending time with his 2 x 2 twin daughters and 80's glam rock.

Robert Urquhart

Website Programmer

Rob is our website programmer. He is a 30-something white man with an irrelevant degree in Chemistry and a slightly relevant Diploma in e-Business support. He drives a Prius. Rob works with the standard array of PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript and MySQL. He hasn't touched Flash in a long time and intends it to stay that way. In his spare time Rob enjoys playing TRPGs (Tabletop Roleplaying Games with real dice, paper, people and imagination). So it turns out that programmers do have an imagination!

Adele Little

Print Production Manager

Adele is our very busy production manager. She manages all our printing schedules, printing quotes, stocks, samples, proofs and dispatching orders. Sound stressful? We think it is - not that Adele would ever show it! And with two young boys she is no doubt kept just as busy at home as she is at work.
